Purpose

The Acoustics Technical Working Group meetings are held to foster communication and collaboration between NASA researchers and their university, industry, and government partners on activities and work of current and future mutual interest.

Schedule

April 19-20, 2016  – Acoustics Technical Working Group Meeting (ATWG)

Presentations will encompass topics of interest to and supported by the Advanced Air Transport Technology, Revolutionary Vertical Lift Technology, and Commercial Supersonic Technology Projects under the Advanced Air Vehicles Program, the Convergent Aeronautics Solutions and Transformative Tools and Technologies Projects under the Transformative Aeronautics Concepts Program, as well as the Environmentally Responsible Aviation Project under the Integrated Aviation Systems Program.

Lunch both days will be at the NASA Langley cafeteria.

April 21, 2016  – Commercial Supersonic Technology (CST) Workshop and ANOPP2 Training Courses

CST Workshop

A half-day workshop addressing issues related to the Commercial Supersonic Technology project entitled “Impact of Engine Selection and Takeoff Procedures On Community Noise and Performance” is scheduled for Thursday morning.  Please see the CST-Workshop (PDF) for additional information on the workshop.

Times: 8 am – 12 pm

ANOPP2 Training

Multiple training courses on the use of the second generation Aircraft NOise Prediction Program (ANOPP2), including introductory topics and special topics based on feedback from the user community, are planned throughout Thursday.  These courses have been added to the online registration form, and if these courses fill up, additional courses may be offered on Friday, April 22.  Please see the 2016_ANOPP2_Class_Description (PDF) for additional information on the ANOPP2 Training.

Agenda:

  • Course 1: ANOPP2 Introduction (Same course offered last year), 8 am – 12 pm
  • Course 2: Creating a Functional Module (Plugin), 1 pm – 3 pm
  • Course 3: Integrating Measurement Databases into ANOPP2, 3 pm – 5 pm

No-Host Dinner

There will be a no-host dinner on Tuesday April 19 at the Vintner’s Cellar in Yorktown, Virginia at 6:30 pm. A restaurant attendance count will also be taken with check-in on the first morning.

Registration

By filling out the registration, we can make sure we keep in touch before and after the meeting, and prepare your access to the Langley Research Center. Deadlines for registration are April 1 for foreign persons (foreign nationals, US citizens representing a foreign interest), and April 12 for US citizens and green card holders
